Product details
Belden 3107A RS-485 Data Cable, 22 AWG, 2-Pair
Experience fast, reliable, and secure data transmission with the Belden RS-485 multipair Data Cable.
This screened industrial cable features FHDPE (Foam High Density Polyethylene) insulation, which provides excellent flame protection and is also crush-resistant and lightweight, making this cable a highly resilient choice for your application. It also uses a high-grade PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) black outer jacket which provides resistance to UV, oils & water and abrasions and is versatile to allow modifications. The patented Beldfoil shield protects against unwanted noise and signal loss due to electromagnetic interference (EMI).
This multipair Belden 3107A cable is non-plenum and can operate in a wide temperature range of -20°C to +60°C. The maximum recommended current for this unit is 2.7 Amps per conductor at 25°C.
Features and Benefits:
Rugged and durable with oil and sunlight resistance
Guards against EMI due to highly effective Datalene insulation (FHDPE) and an overall Z-fold Beldfoil shield
Tinned copper conductors ensure great conductivity
120 Ohm nominal impedance
Applications:
Use with HART automated systems
Video, audio and data communication
Factory or process automation
Harsh environment
IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things)
What is RS-485?
This term refers to an industry standard for defining the electrical characteristics of serial lines in serial communication systems (methods of sending data). This standard is useful for industrial control systems as it ensures signal transmission over long distances and electrically noisy environments, in installations where many devices may need to be interconnected.
How do multipair cables work?
A multipair electronic cable contains groups of conductive wires that are twisted together into pairs, which carry signals and data. This construction helps to reduce crosstalk and EMI and is efficient as many wires can be bundled together, allowing easier installation.
Standards:
NEC CM; PLTC CEC: CM
