CAE SIHF2X Series 2 Core Silicone Cable
From CAE Groupe, a selection of 2 core silicone insulated power cables designed for power, control and the connection of machinery and electrical equipment. The robustly constructed cables are made from high-quality materials that perform exceptionally well in the most demanding environments.
This flexible mains cable consists of 2 cores made from tinned copper, stranded in layers. Each individual core is surrounded in a silicone elastomer insulation. The cores are then housed in a halogen-free Silicone elastomer outer sheath. This power cable is manufactured in accordance with IEC 60228 class 5 SIHF standards. CAE cables are extremely flexible and are primarily used in hi-flex, high bend applications.
Silicone Insulation - The Benefits
Silicone insulation has a thermal range that is second to none. This allows silicone mains cable to be used in applications that require resistance to both high and low temperatures. Silicone in the composition is relatively soft so the flexibility of the cable can be maintained at both high and low temperatures without the worry of the sheath becoming brittle and cracking.
Features and Benefits
Wide operating temperature range of - 60°C to + 180°C
Flame retardant, halogen free sheath
Good resistance to oils and solvents
Good resistance to UV rays
Robust and reliable withstands daily wear and tear
Excellent electrical insulating properties
Excellent flexibility, silicone cables are able to withstand higher flexing cycles compared to other insulation types
Applications
With their outstanding physical properties, silicone mains cables are ideal for a wide range of industrial and commercial wiring applications. These cables are often used in industries where a higher level of protection is required. Some of the most common are
Plastic forming and moulding machines
Food processing lines
Refrigeration and cold rooms
Furnaces, steel works, hot rolling mills and foundries
Lighting installation
Standards
IEC 60228 class 5 conductor class, IEC 60754-1 & 2, NF C 32-070/C2 or IEC 60332-1
