MultiCrimp crimp tool

High quality Knipex crimping tool with additional 3 or 5 interchangeable crimping die. These handheld crimp tools are designed to compress pieces of material together with the size of 0.5 to 6mm² with the crimping dies being able to change quickly and easy without any additional tool. This is just the one tool with the extra most common crimping applications in a round magazine so this saves space and time whilst working on the job. This crimp tool offers a range of services of five pairs of crimp tools within a single tool.

484-815 The three interchangeable crimping dies in the quick die change round magazine can be used in a wide range of applications:-
• Non-insulated, open plug connectors from 0.5 to 6.0 mm² (plug width 4.8 + 6.3 mm)
• Insulated cable lugs, plug connectors and butt connectors from 0.5 to 6.0 mm²
• Insulated and non-insulated end sleeves from 0.25 to 6.0 mm²

484-798 The five interchangeable crimping dies in the quick die change round magazine can be used in a wide range of applications:-
• Non-insulated plug connectors with open cable entry from 0.5 to 6mm² (plug width 4.8 + 6.3 mm)
• Insulated cable lugs, plug connectors and butt connectors from 0.5 to 6mm²
• Insulated and non-insulated end sleeves (ferrules) from 0.25 to 6mm², and 10/16 and 25mm²
• Non-insulated crimp terminals, tubular cable lugs and compression cable lugs in accordance with DIN 46234 and DIN 46235
• Non-insulated crimp terminals, butt connectors and press connectors in accordance with DIN 46341 and DIN 46267 of 0.5 to 10mm²

The quick crimping die change are inserted in the front of the crimping tool with the locking system developed for this crimp tool connects the dies to the tool with zero backlash and friction making the changes simple and easy. This crimping tool also automatically adjusts to the size of the bootlace ferrule to make sure accurate work is performed with each crimp. This feature allows the user not to spend time measuring the force when crimping because the crimping tool integral lock with release mechanism ensures the right amount of pressure automatically reaches the bootlace ferrule.

Features and Benefits

• One tool that offers 3 or 5 different services with the most common crimping applications
• 3 or 5 interchangeable crimping die stored in a round magazine
• Crimping Pressure has been set precisely (calibrated) in the factory – also adjustable
• Repetitive, high crimping quality due to integral lock, self-releasing mechanism
• Ergonomically-shaped, two-colour multi-component holsters for single and two-handed operation
• Chrome vanadium electric steel in special quality, oil-hardened

Typical Applications

Crimping tools can be used for a variety of applications:-
• Maintenance & repair
• Electrical Installations
• Cable assemblies

How to maintain the product?
• To maintain a good function and long life: Axles and other movable parts should be regularly lubricated.
• Lubrication* is recommended at least every 10,000 cycles whenever tool is exposed to dirt or other contaminants.
• Adjustment of the crimping die nests should also be checked. Readjustment of the pressure adjustment axle is necessary when the pre-load of the tool decreases significantly

*Use a light mineral-free oil

The Importance of a High-Quality Crimp
When a crimping tool is used on a terminal, two crimps take place at the same time. One is the electrical connection between the conductor and terminal. The other is the insulation crimp which provides strain relief against vibration and tension. It is important that the electrical connection is gas tight without any voids between the wire strands and the terminal. If there any voids present, then corrosion can occur causing resistance and excessive heat which damages the electrical connection. Using a good quality crimping tool will ensure that a full, gas tight crimp is produced preventing future deterioration of the electrical connection and insulation breakage
