Flexible Light Guide System for SMD LEDs
The flexible light guide system, from MENTOR, consists of the mounting supports and light guides which are ordered separately. They offer a customisable solution, allowing the user to create a unique light pipe to suit their design.
The mounting supports (1304.1001 and 1304.1002) are black plastic holders which are pushed into the PCB using two pins. They are designed for use with 2.2 mm diameter light pipes and surface mounted (SMD) LEDs.
The light pipes (1304.1003, 1304.1004 and 1304.1005) are flexible coated fibres which are available in a variety of lengths. They are designed to be used with the mounting supports by slotting into the holes on the top.
Features of the flexible light guide system:
Holder and light pipes ordered individually
Holder material: PC black UL94
Light pipe material: PMMA
Ambient temperature: -40°C to +85°C
LED Light Pipes, MENTOR - Flexible
MENTOR light guides are designed to transmit light from a PCB-mounted LED to the desired user interface. This transfer is completed with little or no loss of luminance and no light bleed between adjacent elements.
The flexible LEDs push-fit into a plastic housing which is mounted onto the PCB. They have a round head shape in a range of diameters.
