Exar offers a wide range of RS232 serial communication standard (also known as TIA/EIA-232) devices. They span over a range of data rates from 20kbps to 1Mbps, including the popular 120kbps and 250kbps speeds.

RS-232 transceivers operate from a single 5V supply, and many can operate with a supply voltage as low as 3V
The enhanced ESD (ElectroStatic Discharge) up to +/-15kV IEC 61000-4-2, and/or +/-15kV HBM (Human Body Model)
Most of Exar’s devices are pin and spec compatible with popular industry standard devices for direct drop-in replacement
