FAQs

Why use a socket wrench and socket rather than a spanner?

Although they can be used for similar applications, using a socket and wrench has many advantages. The use of interchangeable sockets ensures that only one wrench is required to work with various sized fasteners, saving both time and money. The hexagon drive type also ensures a secure and reliable connection to the fastener with each point producing a strong grip and increased torque, preventing slippages and the risk of rounding the edges of the fastener unlike a spanner that only fits to a limited number of edges. The combination of a wrench and socket provides a much more versatile hand tool that can be used in a wide range of applications, especially when fasteners are recessed or hard to reach.
